My name is Tyler Smith, and I am from Selma, AL. I have grown up in the outdoors my entire life. From woods to water, Its in my blood. I can remember being on our pier as a kid catching bream. Fishing is always something I have enjoyed, and want to pursue in my life. I fishing in high school in local clubs, and got to know the fishing coach at Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL. After one year of college fishing I qualified for the Major League Fishing National Championship. I qualified through the Major League Fishing Open on Kentucky Lake. With this being my first trip out of the state of Alabama I walked away with 13th place out of 167 boats. After that year of school I felt God calling me in a different direction. So I Started working and started fishing the Major League Fishing BFL's. In just me second season of the BFL's I qualified for the Regional Championship in 20th place in the AOY points. In the 2021 Regional Championship I came out on top. With a three day total of 43 pounds. This win also qualified me for the 2022 BFL All-American. All of this leads me to where I am today. I have always enjoyed teaching, and guiding gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge with young people and adults as well.
